Thanks for viewing my page! I have recently relocated to Belmont, NC from Buffalo, NY. I am a 35+ year private music instructor specializing in drum set, snare drum and djembe drums. My goal is to put every student on a fast track of learning and skill development. I guide, mentor and help students feel confident and completely capable to therefore flourish in any working musical environment.
Throughout these 35 years of teaching I have constantly sent students to New York State All County/District and All-State competitions and solo festivals. They prepare difficult solos and compete on snare drum and drum set. My students have always performed in the high percentile scoring 95 to 100%. Many were then chosen to even go further to the All-State level and compete. I presently have one student that has gone to solo competition preparing the most difficult solos allowed and has scored over 8 perfect 100% scores.
Several of my students have gone on to become professional working drummers themselves, performing on cruise ships, international tours and national tours. My students have been featured on the Tonight Show, The David Letterman Show, The Warped Tour, MTV and are drummers in the opening acts for Dierks Bentley and Hank Williams lll.
Another aspect of my business is my Drums Unlimited Performance group. This is a group of my select students that I take out into the community and we do performances regularly. The music performed are all original choreographed compositions. The compositions are varied showing many different styles and genres of music performed. Drums Unlimited is a dynamic drum show full of back sticking, stick twirling, stick throwing and visual effects to entertain an audience.
Drums Unlimited had the privilege to perform at many prestigious events throughout the Buffalo area and surrounding communities from 2003-2018. Drums Unlimited became involved with Drums Along The Waterfront, an International Drum Corps Competition that would come to the Buffalo Bills NFL stadium (New Era Field) every year. The president, Jack Gaylord Jr. graciously allowed my students this fantastic opportunity to perform at these prestigious events. Drums Unlimited provided a great way for my students to have some enriching real world musical experiences and become confident performers and entertainers.
